Sounds like the message was communicated loud and clear.

The police do not have the right to tell you not to film them in public.

There were reports of shots being fired at the cops. They did not want to be lit up by a powerful light.

Sorry if the livestreamer pissed his pants, but they needed the light off ASAP.

As we saw from the reporters who got arrested at the McDonalds, they often want to ask a bunch of questions and start a dialogue before complying with a direct order from the cops.

I'm guessing this guy had no questions for the cops, as they made themselves abundantly clear.

    True.

Also irrelevant. He wasn't told not to film. He was told to turn the light off.

The curfew starts at 12 central time, does the media have to go
    home also?

In a manner that would result in charges being filed if you said to your neighbor.

The reporters are the real heroes in this story.

We need more accounts of their experiences.

Has Nate Silver tweeted any more about his arrest? That was so relevant. His experience makes me understand what it's like to be African-American, and poor in a place like Ferguson, MO.

OK then. Let's just all go home and not ask any questions.

Those reports of shots being fired turned out to be fireworks. Not only that, but I know that area a bit, and the livestreamer was not in the immediate danger zone where shots were originally reported as being fired.

The cops' reaction was well out of proportion with the "offense". Surprise, surprise.

Not heroes, just trying to do their job in the face of a police force that seems to whip its collective ass with their constitutional right to do so.
