    I don't disagree with you.

I don't have blinders on when it comes to the cops. I don't believe they are all angels, and I believe they are more than willing to cover for each other.

    Totally different situation.

Rodney King didn't need six bullets because there was something like ix cops beating him with batons while he was on the ground.

Wilson was alone. The allegation is that Brown was on his feet and charging the officer.

And, if there had already been a fight, Wilson was likely full of adrenaline, and in fight or flight mode himself.

Six bullets doesn't sound unreasonable to me if the shooting itself was justified.

Dick, you aim for the head and/or chest. They are the two biggest targets.

    No disagreement there.

    So manslaughter instead of murder.

    Apparently.

If the shooting was not justified.

Given the level of professionalism that has been exhibited to date by the Ferguson PD, assuming Wilson actually hit what he was aiming at strikes me as a helluva stretch.

The ability to get the facts was compromised by the local police from the moment the shooting took place.

Dick, cops don't aim for the arms or legs. They just don't.

Once a determination has been made to use deadly force, you don't try to hit the guy in the arm.

And, if Brown was "charging" Wilson, as has been alleged, then you can imagine his head being down, and being a large target.

    Maybe they should.

You're going to have one *hell* of a time coming up with a straight line that goes from a chest-high drawn gun, through the top of the head of a charging man of Brown's height, and coming out where it did.

He would have had to have been running with his torso at nearly a 90-degree angle from the ground.

Yes. I haven't disagreed. (Or, at the very least, they were unwilling to disseminate these facts, or give the community and confidence that they were looking for facts.)

And, it is entirely appropriate to have other law enforcement groups -- county, state, federal -- look at the case.

What's not acceptable is to develop a narrative that accuses the cop of cold blooded murder, based on an absence of facts.
