OK, if you want to rally in support of Darren Wilson, great. But if you don't want to highlight police-driven dehumanization that's created tense community relations, well...

When asked why the pro-Wilson rally didn't have many African-American attendees, John Newshaw, a retired St. Louis County police officer, said, "This sounds wrong, but I don't think the black community understands the system. Again, there's a process. They're screaming about, why isn't he [Wilson] arrested, why isn't he in jail? Well, without the investigation being done, you can't go and apply for a warrant."

Newshaw criticized the Missouri Highway Patrol for "doing exactly what the violent protesters want" and trying to use more communication and less force.

"They're going to keep pushing the envelope," he said of demonstrators who've gotten violent during protests in Ferguson. "There's no reason to stop. ... It's as simple as training your dog. If you don't tell them stop biting, guess what, he's going to continue to bite."

 

Boy, does that look like a humdinger of a read.

 

You can be right about a lot of things, and then you post something like this and you go way down on the credibility meter.

I retracted it shortly thereafter.

 

I find this stuff fascinating. Dry, at times. But the actual subject matter is fascinating. Think about it: Something we intuitively always thought, that eyewitness testimony is reliable, may be completely wrong. How many end up going to jail because of it? How many have been executed?

Fascinating stuff.

 

He's still an officer of the court.

 

And if they'd done it in two, we'd still have the exact same shit going on because the truth does not matter to the race hustlers.
