I have no idea if this is true, though I think it will be provable if it is true.

I think this case clearly did overwhelm the locals, and I think -- as I said previously -- that the cops' instinct is to close ranks and protect their officer, whether he's right or wrong. Because of this, I'm not sure we can infer much as far as the officer's potential guilt. They likely would have acted the same way either way.

And, the St. Louis County cops might not be in charge any more, but they are still on the scene. Look at some of the pictures from the last couple of days. You see their mobile command center, their tactical vehicles, and their officers.

I can believe that initially you had a town of tinpot Barney Fifes panicking. But I'm not sure that's the case anymore. Clearly, there's a strategy that it's not enough that there is peace in town -- the natives (said in the most racist way possible) have to be pacified. Why else, after the Missouri Highway Patrol stepped in and calmed things, does the Ferguson police throw a bomb with the robbery video -- and just leave it at that? For a moment, it appeared that the police were helping again, and then they pull that shit.

Then again, if you look at these poll numbers about Ferguson that Pew just put out, it's pretty clear that the overwhelming white police force is doing what police forces often have been tasked to do -- protect the white people, while nominally leaving race out of it.

One of the elders in the WaPo article:

LOL. So, Malik Shabazz is just the national president of Black Lawyers for Justice, huh? That's the full description?

You know, the media loves to cite the Southern Poverty Law Center, but forgot to check with them about Malik Shabazz.

Let's see how they describe him:

I can't wait for the WaPo to one day describe David Duke as just a peace making "elder" from some human rights organization.

Pretty sure this woman has absolutely no idea of the real meaning of the word "justice."

In fact, I'm pretty sure that the great majority of those who yell "No justice, no peace!" have no idea what the word really means.

Cops don't wait 10 minutes to release a story that makes them look good. Let alone 10 days.

Guys, you don't understand how important it is to establish that some people who think differently than me are hypocritical.

It is more important than anything.

St. Louis resident John Payne paints the picture of the city and its metro area. Looks like Ferguson isn't the only city with police problems.

I'm now waiting for the St. Louis cop who fires warning shots at jaywalkers. #obscurereference
