Are they trying to kill her? I mean, news is one thing, but sticking her on the wall and saying tough it out is another...

As a matter of fact, if I were the Chron editor, I would try to get a still camera in a stainless-steel mount and a video also and get to the top of one of those towers and record this thing from outer bands to eye wall.

Is the lovely Ms. Abrams wearing a too tight T-shirt? ;)

I'm not near a television this morning.

It's been echoed on this board before, but:

One of these TV folks is going to die doing something stupid during a hurricane. For my eyes sake, I hope it's not Abrams. Let God have Bettes.

KHOU.com is streaming live Ike coverage if anyone is interested in watching it.

They've got a guy standing on the wrong side the seawall right now.

He's not nearly as good looking as the lovely and talented Stephanie Abrams however.

Edit: He's off the beach now.

    Why aren't they allowing that?

Too many TV trucks heading south on I-45?

Hunkering down by the seawall probably sounds like a heavenly option to these poor saps.

I've had it with these morons whose brains turn to crap when a hurricane is imminent. MSNBC is showing a seawall, I'm not sure where, with waves crashing up against it, creating 20-foot-high sprays on the adjacent roadway, which is completely littered with debris. Here's some clown with his cell phone camera, wondering along like it's clear and calm. Like the goofballs that go surfing at the first sign of a Cat 1, throw their asses in jail so you don't have to go looking for them when things really get bad.

If you have DirecTV, it has KHOU on Channel 361.

And Danger Jim Cantore is in Galveston, saying over and over that, "This pier will not be here much longer."

So Ike will do what Gustav couldn't and didn't. It never stops.
