If he e-mailed you saying he didn't, that'd be more interesting still.

Several schools here are canceled tomorrow.

Neighbor's tree looks split in half and landed on his RV.

No other damage outside of that.

As mentioned on the NFL thread, Cleveland's getting hammered with only win right now; my street is a freaking mess.

Gives you a better appreciation of what winds twice what these 60-mph ones do down south.

SWEPCO, a big power supplier in this area, reported that outages peaked at 187,178 customers here in the Ark-La-Tex at 2 a.m. Sunday. It's the second-highest number in the company's history. May not sound like a lot, but trust me, it is, especially considering significant outage numbers in the region's three biggest cities (Shreveport/Bossier LA, Longview TX, Texarkana TX/ARK).

Okay, I may be an unfeeling asshole, but HOW MANY people stayed in Galveston and tried to ride it out!?! News report here just said thousands did. Weather service said "get out or die." WTF was unclear?

It's too early. It may take a few days to comb the wreckage on the island.

It's the typical *I* can make it attitude.

Ike's remnants rolled through our area yesterday. One out of every three customers without power.

    I'm in the "one" category.

Being in the dark sucks donkey ass, but at least there's no hole in my roof.

Everything is going to be all right. President Bush is going to tour Texas on Tuesday.

Particularly LOVE the video NBC keeps showing of a bawling chick sitting in what looks to be a very nice SUV crying "Help us! Help us, please! Waaah!" Uh, honey... STFU. You apparently had the means to leave, the warning and enough dough (clue: the SUV). Idiot.

Contrasts with the guy who said he had no car, and was turned away at the shelter with the advice "tie your ID to your ankle." Yikes.
