    Absolutely. That's what makes the dirty side so dirty in a hurricane — the wind velocity plus the forward speed of the hurricane adds that much to the storm surge onshore. You see the same thing with fast-moving thunderstorms along squall lines.

    No one noticed — I'm quite positive of it — but I've been gone from the board for the last four days, because we haven't had power at my house for the last four days.

    The sun is not far from setting on Day 6 with no electricity. On Day 7 we will run out of gas (again), beer (again), propane and clean clothes.
