Great point, but NFL start times are getting later and later. If the Saturday playoff games are now 4-8 starts, we can't be far from 6-10 starts...especially if there's a mountain or west coast team hosting.

I'm impressed and surprised the Super Bowl still starts at 6:18. Or 6:25. Or 6:27:19, or whatever the fuck it is.

First time an LCS game started after 8:30 -- in my memory. Day games are outlawed, I guess.

It was only 11:45 p.m. when the game ended in Phoenix here for me. Great to see a Rockies playoff game in person and better yet, see a win and have a chance to celebrate with the many Rockies fans in attendance.

If the Rockies get to the World Series and somehow win it all, it would mean more to me than even the New Jersey Devils (formerly the Colorado Rockies and yes the KC Scouts) winning the Stanley Cup.

I lived in Denver for eight years when they had Triple-A baseball (Denver Bears) and were told they'd get a major league team (see Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants and oil businessman Marvin Davis), but never did. I even saw the Old-Timers games that filled Mile High Stadium. When they finally did get the expansion team and called them the Rockies, I was elated. Have been a fan since the start, even through David Nied, the Don Baylor zingers against the Dodgers, the Blake Street Bombers, Bill Swift, Bret Saberhagen, Bruce Ruffin, the Galaragga/Helton passing of the first base torch and seeing managers come and go, the humidor and even the USA Today religion story. I've been with them as they tried all kinds of ways to find the recipe for lasting success.

Obviously, I hope this is the year, but just being this far means they've got something to build on, no matter what happens from here. They're up 2-0 in the NLCS and have a great shot at clinching a World Series berth in front of the hometown fans (I know, the bandwagoners are out there, but what team DOESN'T get that?) and this Rockies fan is just appreciating and enjoying the ride.

I'm the kind of fan who will be happy for his team's success, but if I ever turn into something that has befallen the Red Sox/Yankees fans, please shoot me.

    That is all.

Excellent, Claws. It's a personal goal of mine to see the Mets in a playoff game at Shea. I hope I have a similar experience to yours.

Wow. James Taylor is reading the starting lineup. This should be over by the third inning.

This inning will mark the end of the series.

    It's over.

    Say hello to Red Sox-Rockies.

Manny and Ortiz have reached base like 13 of 14 times.

I really don't see the Rockies or Red Sox losing until the World Series.
