I wonder which would be worse for the Rockies' momentum: Losing tomorrow night, or having NINE days off between the LCS and World Series.

My vote is C: none of the above.

What will change their momentum is running into the Red Sox.

But I don't see the World Series as a sweep, for once. I think if those two meet up, we're going to have a six- of seven-game series.

Lucky for them they'll be playing the Indians then.

I could see it going seven, and I could see the Rockies losing one game and having the bottom fall out.

    Will be fun to watch.

I see Red Sox def. Rockies in 6.

    And digging deeper. ...

With the way Colorado is playing, though, I'll stick with six games.

Owings looks to be the choice.

    As he should be.

You can pull out all the stops to win Game 4, if you want ... but you still gotta win 5-6-7.

I know, I know, why save Webb for a Game 5 that was never played ... Piniella got ripped earlier this month for that ... but the point is: you have to win four games in a row, and somebody besides Webb has to win at least two of them. Webb already got beat by these guys (and isn't very good against Colorado historically), so he's not an automatic W by any means. Owings puts another bat in the lineup and, more importantly, has been mentally preparing to make this start all week. So he's not getting Ankieled on this one and thrust into an impossible situation, a rookie needing to pitch lights-out to keep his team alive, down 0-3 in the playoffs.

Pitching Webb, IMO, is a sign of desperation. It sends the message that "we can't win with our entire team -- we have to send our ace out there to have a chance." Even if he does pitch like the reigning Cy Young winner in Game 4, I think that screws up the mindset of the team if they get to Game 5. Especially for a team so young.

Better to go balls-out in Game 4 with the team you got, knowing if you win you can hand the ball to the ace in Game 5. Then he can do his thing, and then you can go back home, and then you might just ... you know, remember the Red Sox?

If the Red Sox make it. I'm still not sure they do.
