Didn't Bob Gibson always tell that story about the time he struck out Kenny Lofton on a 101-MPH fastball?

Wow, strikes 3 and 4 not called.

Westbrook definitely was squeezed. He just called a strike on the first pitch to Lowell that was close to where what should have been strikr 3 was.

The replay showed it was outside, but you're right that he has given that call in the past.

I'm biased, though, because I really hate watching Westbrook pitch. He's a fucking thumber.

Red Sox are whizzing away opportunities to blow the game open.

They seem to increasingly have a problem getting hits from anyone not named Ortiz, Ramirez or Lowell. Hard to win that way unless you're pitching's flat-out awesome. Which it hasn't been.

I love watching David Ortiz run the bases.

    That is all.

Who is this guy wearing Jake Westbrook's uniform tonight?

He'd look good in a Yankee uniform right about now!

Is it the pitcher Jake Westbrook was supposed to be?

That's been a big issue for much of the year with them. Other than those three (and Lowell can be pitched to as well - he's not as great a hitter as his numbers this year suggest), that lineup is very ordinary:

Drew is soft and very overrated
Varitek's hitting has been going downhill for several years
Lugo and Crisp are offensive zeroes.
