But you've still got to get through Pedroia, Youkilis, Ortiz, Ramirez and Lowell. That's easier said than done.

The lack of a strong hitter in the 6 or 7 hole really hurts, a lot.

Can they start displaying this K-zone graphic on the video board at Jacobs Field? These fans are losing their minds about every call, many of which haven't been all that close. Granted this home plate ump is pretty inconsistent, but it kind of loses its effect to boo and scream about every ball/strike call.

Ramirez actually managed to not kill the Indians (ground into DP with 1 out, runners on 1st and 2nd). Color me shocked.

This is playoff baseball. There is nothing that will help ease the fans off the ump. Nothing short of a 10-run lead, at least.

I've always said this: For the most part, fans are dumb. You can't help them. Just let them be, and it'll make your night go a lot easier.

Aside from maybe Theo Epstein, I don't think anyone "overrates" Drew any more. You're right about Varitek, especially late in the season. He just wears down.
And the other two, well at least they work the count and their speed makes pitchers nervous when they get on base. But not tonight.

Ain't over yet...2 run shot by Varitek.

The Cleveland fans are getting a little annoying, but no more annoying than the Fox announcers who are trying to manufacture a controversy about the game four starter out of whole cloth.

Wedge should have gone to the bullpen to start the 7th. Perez, Betancourt and then Borowski. Now, Borowski is going to have to face the middle of the lineup with just a two-run lead.

Is it just me, or do they keep showing closeups of a lot of really old Cleveland fans?

They did that a lot at Fenway in 2003 and 2004, too.

Did I just hear that Harold Reynolds is working for Fox now?
