Wouldn't it be the Curse of Kason Gabbard?

Hard not to agree, especially with a huge question mark on the mound tomorrow.

Sox needed to be up 2-1 after 3. They needed to win starts by Beckett and Schilling. Now the bullpen is gassed out by three games of use.

It's not like Bob Feller is pitching for Cleveland.

Or the Curse of Trot Nixon.

You just don't let the original Dirt Dog walk for a fragile, emotionless piece of trash like JD Drew. Perhaps Theo's biggest blunder on his already spotty resume.

As far as Wakefield goes...he could go 3 innings and give up 8 runs or go 7 shutout innings and I wouldn't be shocked either way. He's that inconsistant.

    Paul Byrd?
If they Red Sox can't beat Byrd, they're in serious trouble. Tonight seems a little early to panic.

He looked like Feller tonight, through a combination of his strong performance and some limp bats.

Yeah, no team has ever overcome a 2-1 deficit. It's impossible. Matsuzaka is gassed. Apparently, $100 million doesn't buy you enough stamina to get through an entire season.

With Wakefield on the mound for the Sox tomorrow -- he's the question mark, coming off the back injury -- I'm not too pumped and jacked.

    They really needed this game.

Yeah, the nine days of rest apparently didn't do any good.

I'm hoping I'm eating my words around this time tomorrow, but if I could swap pitchers for tomorrow's game, I would.

Every one of the Red Sox weaknesses has gotten exploited the last two games:

    1. Very ordinary lineup outside of Papi and Manny
    2. Older, more vulnerable Schilling
    3. Gassed Dice-K (season of pitching on shorter rest and against far better hitters than ever before)
    4. Gagne not being able to handle the pressure of Boston
