Hey I live in the central time zone and my paper doesn't care if it gets in or not. In fact I'd rather the games start later so I can watch them after I get off work.
I was just pointing out that Colorado isn't really a West Coast team.

Yeah, they're not. And 8 really is a bit late. 7 would be fine. But starting at 6 p.m., an hour after people get off work and the height of rush hour, to accommodate East Coast TV? Nuts to 'em.

I meant West teams -- so my bad -- but either way, the point was made. I've never seen a game or even a television outside of the Eastern time zone, so I've never experienced a 10 a.m. baseball game. But I'm sure the fans on the West get pretty sick of missing the first two or three innings of playoff baseball when the Yankees and Red Sox are playing, presuming they give a shit in the first place. I know I would.

That is why moving to the central time zone has been a pretty cool thing for me. I get to see all of the NFL games, even if I go to church in the morning and I never miss the starts of baseball games. I know during the Yankees series this year, my dad kept getting his work schedule all screwed up because the games kept starting at 2 p.m. on the West Coast.

You do if you work a 9-to-5 job.

You don't think the Yankees would have won without Tino Martinez? That's something I've wondered many times. Surely it wasn't Donny Baseball who was holding New York back. I think it was more of a coincidence than anything else.

I no longer plan to kill someone on my way out, Hank. :(

Yeah, I'm talking about "normal" people.

Couldn't have said it better. If I move again, I think it'll be to the West Coast, so maybe I'll have a chance to experience early-morning baseball ... you know, the way God intended it.

No, really. Fuck 'em. The entire world revolves around "normal" people. They don't need any more catering-to.

Anyway, I love, love, love sports on the West Coast. Nothing better than MNF and World Series games ending at 9 p.m., and NFL games starting at 10 a.m.

I was thinking more Jeff Nelson. Plus, trading Russ Davis to the Mariners freed the Yankees up to acquire Charlie Hayes and then Scott Brosius.
