On six days' rest, I'm a bit more confident. If they can somehow get seven out of him (and win, of course), the bullpen's set for Sunday's fracas.

I'm more confident in Schilling than Dice-K, though I know that's not saying much.

As bad as Schilling pitched in Game 2, Carmona did not pitch much better. If they can force Fausto to throw a high number of pitches (he walked 5 to Schilling's 0) they could do some solid damage. Schill still has something left...he had a pretty good regular season and threw 7 shutout innings in the ALDS (although against a hapless Angels lineup).

Are you going to get Game 2 Carmona against the Red Sox or Game 4 Carmona against the Yankees? That's where the series will be decided.

Carmona pitched Game 2 of the Yankees series. Byrd pitched Game 4 of the ALDS.

Well I stand corrected. Which game 2 Carmona will they get? My money will be game 2 of the Yankees series.

I hope so, but expecting Carmona to be as dominant as he was against the Yankees may be a bit much.

Maybe, but Carmona was outstanding all year and dominant down the stretch. He had failed to get through the fifth inning only twice this season, the most recent June 27 against Oakland when he gave up eight runs and failed to record an out in the second inning. The other was his first start of the season April 13.

Carmona was 9-4 with a 2.26 ERA in the regular season after the All-Star break. Given how he pitched this season, Game 2 against Boston could have been more of an aberration than Game 2 against the Yankees was.

    God. Fucking. Dammit.

Bases loaded, no out, against Ramirez IN FENWAY?

These are going to be two VERY long games for Indians fans.

Manny made out. Lowell's up and he popped up to short right field. Two outs.
