I think it means the hitter drove in a run. I'm not sure, though. The phrase is finding its way into game stories, unfortunately.

Maybe the most annoying thing about McCarver is that he tells a story that everyone has heard before (Matsuzaka in HS Tourney) like he uncovered it and is giving new info.

    Big strikeout by Dice-K.

Now would be a good time for Westbrook to have a quick inning.

It's an old, old phrase that hack announcers and hack writers like to use as if they just discovered another way to say "scored."

It was a fake question, I know what it means. I just don't know why anyone would say it. Twice.

Youkilis ripped that pitch down the line.

I think, more than any other hitter, he's the key to the Red Sox offense.

One day, maybe we can get Dane Cook and Frank Caliendo in the same room with an armed, crazy felon.

Providing Sabathia is ready, I'd think that's how Wedge will use the bullpen. But he does have a couple of other sturdy arms. He just can't put Borowski out there, and I'm sure Wedge knows that.

A Lowell sac fly gives Boston a 3-0 lead.

Red Sox hitters are doing a nice job against Westbrook.

Westbrook is getting insanely lucky. He's allowed seven hits and only given up three runs. Also, the Indians need to stop swinging at the first pitch and try to get Dice-K's pitch count up.
