I'm betting it'll have the feel of a superpowered "Alias."

Never watched Alias but I was thinking Man from U.N.C.L.E. but where one can fly and the other has a metal arm and some super soldier powers.

The other is that it is only going to be six episodes, so the slow buildup of WandaVision will be out the door for what I think will be a break-neck pace.

I think it will also heavily focus on life after the snap and all hell breaking loose for those folks.

I'm curious how they handle Falcon's character arc. He's been given the mantle of Captain America. Does he take it in full, keep his Falcon suit, or mix the suit and the shield? He always deferred to Cap, so how does he handle the promotion to a more senior leadership role? Lots of things to explore there.

Based on the trailers, I don't think he is going to take on the role at the start. I'm guessing it will be John Walker/U.S. Agent who tries to do it first. The character is new to the MCU, but he did step into the costume at one point in the comics.

I'm hoping we get more of the discussion Steve Rogers had with Bucky before he went back into the past. I'm assuming they discussed the mantle before the decision was made to pass it along to Falcon.

I imagine Jay is right as well, that this will also give us a look at more of the world after Endgame.

Maybe we'll skip right to The Patriot Missile.

I haven’t read a Marvel Comic since 1974. What is SWORD? I’m assuming that somewhere in the canon that organization existed. Are they ‘Good guys’?

They were introduced as good guys, but like SHIELD, they can't always be trusted.

SWORD was introduced in Astonishing X-Men. It was a space-based counterpart to SHIELD, primarily focused on alien threats. Having them involved is yet another connection to mutants in general and the X-Men in particular.

When they were first introduced, Abigail Brand was leading SWORD. That is why I mentioned her earlier. Lockheed, Kitty Pryde's dragon companion, has also been an agent of SWORD in the comics.

I'm guessing they are connected with Nick Fury and the Skrulls we saw in the post-credits scene from Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Season finale thoughts: Huh, ain't that something.

I think some will be disappointed, some will be elated and some will be left scratching their heads.

I'd also add that there's this vast network of sites and YouTube channels that break everything down frame by frame or "here's what I saw when I slowed it down to .25 speed" and those cats really do a disservice to just simply enjoying a show. And I say that as a person who has constructed elaborate theories on various MCU projects.

I really should avoid this thread until I watch it tonight.

I will say that it is worth checking out Paul Bettany's comments. He was the one who hyped a big cameo, but he said something more about that this week. It is a bit of a spoiler, so I would wait until after viewing the episode to seek those comments.

If there's one thing comics fans are familiar with, it's a nine-part special that starts with a really cool premise and seems full of promise, then kinda fizzles as the writers don't know how to wrap it up in a way that's as cool as it began. Powers fight, defeat the bad guy but in a way that lets them come back whenever they're needed, new costume to sell some merch, ship it.
