Did you really just claim that allowing a black man to play Macbeth is cultural appropriation?

Why are English actors always playing the parts in Hamlet? It's set in Denmark. Appropriation!

No. I’m claiming the opposite. If that’s not cultural appropriation, how is Tilda’s an appropriation?

Oh, you were making an even dumber point than I originally thought. Congrats!

Wow. You really did just claim that Denzel Washington playing Macbeth is every bit the issue as a white woman playing an Asian character. o_O

They are fictional characters and one is a comic book. Neither should be an issue. It’s not cultural appropriation for a British woman to play a stereotypical mystical nonspecific supernatural Asian male character created by a Jewish man. Call me when Daniel Day-Lewis stars as Malcolm X. Betting he could do a great job.

You really just insist on demonstrating your racism on this board, don't you?

What's next? Do you want to argue that it would be fine to recast Black Panther with a white actor replacing Chadwick Boseman? The character was created by two white, Jewish guys, so it's fine, right?

He wears a mask, what difference would it make? And is Black Panther such an East? West? central? African cultural icon that the best actor shouldn’t play it? Besides, the Phantom Pre-exists the Black Panther and it’s pretty similar. Is Jamie Foxx and appropriate choice to play Tarzan? Would that be cultural appropriation or just a casting choice?

I find it all bullshit. Utter fucking crap. Lyn-Manuel Miranda got absolute shit bordering on calling him a racist for not having enough dark skinned Hispanics in The Heights. Because the guy who reinvented interesting casting choices really needs to get called out by thin skinned talentless hacks.

when they recasted The Honeymooners, the greatest sitcom in history with resounding cultural significance to working class whites, with an all black cast, that was cool? Except for the fact that it sucked.

To cry about comic book character casting is an emotional ailment.

All of the Marvel One-Shots are now on Disney+. For those who haven't seen them, they are a series of short films from relatively early in the MCU's history, most of them involving SHIELD. Until now, they had only included All Hail the King, which now acts as a sort of bridge between Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. They are mostly fun little stories, especially the ones with Coulson.
