Of all the before and after steroids pictures, Sosa's are my favorite. Guy was a stick coming up.

So was Andruw Jones, though. And his head is huge. And no one talks about it.

I just picked up Tom Gorzelanny. He has now thrown 20 innings without allowing a home run. Sure, he's given up 15 hits and four walks. But no dingers. Last year, he gave up three longballs in 61 innings. He also posted a 3.80 ERA last year in 11 starts. Is this guy the real deal? He's only 24, and he's a lefty. He's making $386,000 this year. Something tells me he'll be making a tad more next year.

For the love of all that is holy, why the FUCK would Mike Hargrove have Jeff Weaver issue an intentional walk to load the bases with two outs in the fifth?

I swear to God, this was the most predictable grand slam ever. I was yelling at the radio. Grover didn't hear me. Sure enough, Torii Hunter throttles a flat two-strike fastball someplace into Puget Sound.

God, Jeff Weaver sucks. Why oh why did I take a flier on him. There's no one softer than him on the planet. Even Joe Mauer is tougher than Jeff Weaver.

Screw you Hargrove. You cost me a Paul Byrd win and now it'll take three months for my ERA to recover from this. fuckface. Get a shave too. You're not 25 anymore. You look hideous with that womb broom.

Don't worry buddy. I'll just have to live vicariously thru you, since the bastard with Beckett in our league kept him.

But Weaver has such a pretty necklace.

I'm OK with that, so long as Beckett keeps up that pace, as opposed to what he did a year ago. For now, I'm happy that the guy who won Beckett's bid a year ago gave up so quickly.

Is there a chance that Reyes will swipe 100 bases this year? I believe he now has 8 in 12 games.

Don't think Reyes will steal 100, 75-80 is more likely. But he will be the MVP in the National League.
He is becoming the most dangerous lead off hitter since Rickey Henderson.

Is Reyes the most exciting player in baseball? For my (lack of) money, yes.

  12. Reyes was also picked off tonight at second, and was tagged out on a terrible base running blunder...so there's a lot to learn.

But the stress he puts on pitchers and catchers is amazing. He's probably seen about 4-5 pitch outs already.
