This is all you need to know about the ways Jose Reyes can hurt the opposition: Opening Day at Shea, and the Mets shortstop hits a pop-up to the left of the mound. Ryan Howard runs over Abraham Nunez, and the ball drops. Reyes, who ran hard out of the box, ended up on second and thought about trying to go for third. There is no other player in baseball that makes that play.

While Chacin was very good tonight against the Sawx, he should still be released for being dumb enough to throw a fastball down Broad St. to Willy Mo.

Willy Mo is Pedro Serrano. Hit a home run to Yellowknife tonight, dug a hole to China yesterday flailing at a Ervin Santana hook.

Um, do you think the great Dice-K could not walk home a run in a 1-1 game?
True, the Sox haven't hit much for him but it's hard to blame anybody but the pitcher when he walks in the go-ahead run, no matter what the inning.

Didn't realize that's how the game-winning run came in until just now. Yeah, that's bad.

I was reading something a few hours ago, opposing pitchers averaged 57 throwovers a game during a month-long stretch in one season in the Herzog Cardinals' heyday. Probably 1985 it was, can't remember. But that's nuts. You'll never see that shit again.

You've clearly never been subjected to the torture that is a Steve Trachsel start.

Was with a bunch of writers one time bullshitting with Whitey at an event and he said David Fucking Palmer -- the old Expos scrubini who threw a five-inning no-hitter one year or some nonsense -- threw-over 18 times in a row to try and get Coleman.

Or when BYH, who apparently thinks that ARod hasn't hit .280 career in the postseason, posts his swill.

I apologize to Chase Wright. I must have thought the Yankees were pitching JARET Wright. Consider it the mistake of an aging man. Actually, the pitching line I predicted for Chase Wright was closer to what Jake Westbrook managed for the Indians.

And meanwhile, what do you all think of Charlie Manuel's postgame explosion at Howard Eskin? Did any of you witness it?

I didn'y realize it was Howard Eskin's fault that the Phillies flat out suck.

Does Manuel get fired before the end of the month?

I would rather not see that, but when all is said and done, the Sawx didn't play any fucking defense or hit for him at all, and it still adds up to two earned over six.

Manuel's been on borrowed time since the middle of 2005. What happened last night though?
