So the Nationals and Phillies actually did score another run. It's a miracle.

First of all, I find that truly sad as a baseball fan. The way he threw his first two times out, I think we were about to see something truly special this season. Maybe we still will, but the pessimist in me says that anything with the elbow can't be good.

    That is my calm reaction.

Then there is my first one....FUCKSHITPISSMOTHERFUCKERASSDAMMIT!

I really need to quit playing fantasy baseball.

And of course Michael Restovich's double plays a big part in the Nats' win. Sorry, Charlie, but you're gone.

There are 72 active players in the "most popular players" area of baseball-reference.com

Of those 72, 69 have played in the postseason.

Those players have averaged an 82.4 drop in OPS from regular season to postseason.

It is incredible that certain people who base their entire reputations and board ego on knowing baseball didn't have an inkling of this.

They chose to be dishonest instead.

Players with greater postseason number are in bold.

Reiterating the point being made before I was rudely interrupted by the kids in class....

ARod has, at worst, just slightly underperformed in the postseason.

Nothing.... NOTHING ... there to justify BYH's Steinbrenneresque, Dave Winfield-caliber hard-on for the guy.

    That's check.

    And mate.

    But....but...he's A-Fraud!

The Yankee fans who hate Rodriguez really crack me up.

I'm beginning to believe ARods's going to laugh all the way to the bank after winning another MVP, opting out of his deal and signing a new mega-deal with the Cubs or whomever.

On a side note, Felix Hernandez left after five batters last night with a stiff elbow.

Did you guys already discuss Ryan Howard's knee? Or Rich Harden's shoulder?

I don't remember doing so, cranberry. But then, it wouldn't be the first time I missed something here.

I must offer kidos to headbutt since, if my recollection is correct, he was the only person to offer a positive analysis of John Maine when the Mets acquired him out of the Orioles organization in the Kris Benson-Jorge Julio trade. I am quite impressed with Maine, who has a live fastball and outstanding mound composure.

Is there something new on Harden's shoulder? Last I heard was that he was expected to skip one start and return next week.
