I think two words effectively demolish the "tougher pitchers in the postseason" argument:

    Jeff Weaver.

Every team has a fourth or fifth starter. Even postseason teams. And they have to pitch them, or pitch their horses on shorter rest, when statistics prove they will be easier to hit.

Put simply, who would you rather face -- any time of year -- Scott Kazmir or Weaver?

Just because Weaver made the playoffs doesn't make him a better pitcher.

What that means, moron, is exactly what BYH has been saying... he has flopped in the post-season with the Yankees.

In 20 post-season games since coming to New York, A-Rod has hit .240 with 3 HRs and 8 RBI.
In the past 2 years, he is 3 for 29 with no HRs or RBI in 9 games.

What part of those facts do you not understand?

And the Yankees bullpen finally implodes.

Think Torre over managed a bit by hooking Rasner with one out in the 5th to bring in Myers in a 1-1 game... then staring the parade from the pen?

Torre sure does love to abuse his bullpen arms.
For example, last night Igawa was pitching well and had only thrown 92 pitches. Rather than bring him back out for the 7th, Torre decides Scott Proctor's arm needs to be abused some more in a 9-2 game.
Igawa should have pitched the seventh and Britton should have pitched the eighth and ninth. Instead, Proctor and Henn were wasted for an inning each.

That parsing of his overall to the New York splits only wasn't what was being argued.

    Pay attention.

I've said it before, I'll say it again -- half of that pen won't see the Fourth of July without a stint on the DL.

Not the most questionable decision by a manager this afternoon. Roy Halladay threw 94 pitches in seven innings when he's pulled. Bullpen quickly gives up a two-run shot to dead center by Manny -- his first this season -- in the seventh to tie it at 3. Then Alex Cora triples in the eighth to drive in the go-ahead run. Sox win 5-3.

So much for Halladay's great start.

Right, Cowshit, BYH has been ranting about his postseason performances in Seattle 7 years ago!

And Charlie Manuel leaves his starter in too long and they are one Tom Gordon meatball from being tied.
Moyer had thrown a 2-hit shutout through eight, throwing 108 pitches, yet Manuel has him start the ninth only to see him give up back-to-back doubles and now the tying run is at the plate with the Phillies up 4-1.

Yanks intentionally walk Hafner (and rightfully so) with a runner on third and one out. Victor Martinez follows with a three-run homer.

Maybe TSP was right. Walk both of them and make them prove somebody in that lineup other than Sizemore, Hafner and Martinez can hit.
