You, my friend, never had the pleasure of following a team with "Everyday" Eddie Guardado as the closer.

I swear, he walked the first guy just on principle.

 

East Coast Bias - I guess.

But all closers mentioned are very honourable.

 

Borowski always an adventure. Comes on with a one-run lead and walks the first guy.

I think this thread accurately indicated how FEW guys you can hand the ball at the end and have complete confidence in.

Rivera, Nathan, Rodriquez, Wagner, Ryan, Street, Papelbon.

Seven. After that, it's all bets are off.

I know the saber-folk like to say that closers are overrated (and they likely are) but that's a pretty short freaking list.

 

Gagne when he was healthy could be (should be?) on that list.
