If they can get consistent pitching, the Rays might actually finish with a winning record or better. I like the way they are aggressive on the base paths with their young talent.

Their lineup is pretty damn good. I like to watch them play, just not against the Yankees.

Micah Owings pitched really well for the D-Backs, five innings, one hit, no runs and six strikeouts.

I would think, with the way the Rays have played against the Yankees the past year or so, that you wouldn't like to watch them play against the Yankees. :)

I like this kid. A lot. And there's no Dusty to throw his arm out, either!

Jose (MVP-to-be) Reyes bases-loaded single (now 4 RBI),. Delgado bases-loaded single, 10-1 Mets in the 8th.
Mets taking BP against the "improved" Braves pen.

Perez probably done after 7... 1 run, 5 hits.

Mets starters in 4 games: 27 innings, 3 runs. Mets pen thus far (with 2 innings to go tonight) 7 innings, 0 runs.

Damn that starting rotation has proven to be horseshit. No doubt.

Way to go Jose Mesa, allows a leadoff double to Jason LaRue and a go-ahead triple to Tony Pena Jr. Pena has three triples already this season.

I wish umps would call that more. Good for that guy.

BTW, Jose Mesa is still in the game? Wasn't long ago that he and Osvaldo Perez were future pitching stars of the Baltimore Orioles. Okay, it was about 20 years ago.

    Nice outing by Jose Mesa.

Came in the bottom of the seventh with the Royals and Tigers tied 1-1. In Mesa's first five pitches he:

Gave up a double to Jason LaRue
Gave up a triple to Tony Pena Jr.
Gave up a single to David DeJesus

Then Mark Grudzielanek hit a shot to right field that the Ordonez had played perfectly or it would have been another double.

    Mesa was then pulled.
