Just happy to see the Bucs own St. Louis the last two days. Gorzelanny is looking good early on.

It's not the stretch you believe it is, at least with the Jays. Under Riccardi, the Jays have been known as one of the coldest, most secretive teams in baseball. I believe their media guide bios now exclude family info for the players (aside from listing if the player is married). Shea Hillenbrand may be a complete nutjob, but he's not the only one who feels like the team does not care about its players. Brandon League was sent to the mound with a seroius shoulder injury this spring...and then, after he was sidelined, optioned to Triple-A so that he could not accrue service time. He's since been brought back and placed on the DL.

Prior to League, multiple players were angry with how the Jays have diagnosed their injuries and/or how they "encouraged" them to play thru the pain.

This isn't just about Toronto writers hating Riccardi. It's a very Belichickain way of doing things up there.

As for why players keep signing with Toronto, well, money is everything.

Even if that is true (I'm just not familiar enough with the situation to know), is that Moneyball or just the people running the Blue Jays being assholes?

And let's face it, do you really believe the rest of baseball is full of front office types who care deeply about the well being of their players for any other reason than what those players can do on the field? Sounds a bit naive to me.

No of course I don't believe all front offices care about their players. But many players think Toronto is more obvious in its disdain than others.

And I meant to point out in my post that this isn't just a Moneyball thing. Though I don't think Billy Beane gives a shit about anyone other than himself.

Ricciardi's a jackass. For a guy who squawks as much as he does in Moneyball, he's drafted one decent player so far, Aaron Hill.

He also refuses to trade for young talent. Rumors are out there that he could have gotten Ryan Howard for Ted Lilly. And it doesn't end there. How about a proposed Jose Cruz Jr. trade for David Wright? That shit was on the table at one time.

    He sucks.

And all Pie has done today is drive in the tying run and throw out the potential game-winning run in the ninth.

Go-ahead run in the 10th, but yes. Good debut for the kid.

So good of the Boston kid to head north and show them hockey fans how things are supposed to be done.

    Yeah, right.

And they brought in Will Ohman and his fucking gas can. Get ready for Lou to tie Ohman up to a couple of bricks and let him sink to the bottom of Lake Michigan. Ohman isn't coming back to Iowa. Ever.

Did Lou have a choice? Wasn't he the last reliever left?
