The Red Sox lost 2 of 3 to the Yanks, and 4 days later they've gained 2 games from where they were entering the series vs. NY. And....the Sox still have 19 games to play against the D-Rays.....and 15 interleague games....if anything Mike the Sox' schedule is easier going forward.

I agree on the first point (and have been saying it for weeks); and it was me who said it about Memorial Day (and was being sarcastic) - I agree it is f'ing ridiculous.

Yep. I'm sure Loopy wrote about this or mentioned this theme 10+ times in his SFTL column today (if he did one). When it comes to dissing the Yanks or pumping up the Mets at the Yanks' expense, Loopy formulaic 'edginess' becomes a bit more palatable.

    Red Sox in first? Check.
    Mets in first? Check.
Yanks 10+ games back of first? Check.
Bonds within 10 of having the all-time record to himself? Check.

I couldn't have asked for any more as a baseball fan on May 27th. No complaints from this end.

I don't think he's reading this. He's probably working or at home pouring so much lighter fluid on the grill, it would resemble what Hell really looks like to a Cubs apologist. ;)

He's just covering all his bases so he can say his favorite team won the championship come October.

Rok will not be accepted as a Mets fans since he's in love with the steroid using scumbag in San Francosco and his brother is a fucking 'roid using (dealing?) piece of shit, too.

What about me? Would I qualify if I switch from the Pirates? Giving away Oliver Perez like that might be the final straw....and those fuckers have been pissing me off since they blew the chance to sign Bonds to an extension before the 1992 season.

Nevermind...I'm a Bonds fan, too, so I guess not. hehe

Sox looking good. First sweep in TX since '73. Could this be the first time since '46 they win 100 games? I doubt it, but it should still be a fun summer in Boston. Lots to like about this team, especially the pitching staff from top to bottom, when healthy. Hopefully Pineiro turned a corner after a very good showing today.

Youk may be the most underrated 1B in both leagues. 7 straight multi-hit games and a hitting streak of 19 games. He's been excellent on defense as well.

Yeah cause no one in the Mets employ has ever used steroids.

BYH...I hope Mota comes back and is so bad they have to release him.

None of the juice-using minor leaguers will ever make it to Shea (or Citi Field).

Do the Mets really need Mota?
