With the two-year investment they have, he'll get every chance to prove the Mets really do need him.

No wonder the kids in the Mets system are jumping to use the stuff! It'll get them a two-year deal!

With the road team doing the sweeping in almost all of them.

I interrupt this thread to say--and if this is a db, apologies in advance, no I haven't read every thread on this board--thank you to any and all veterans who may read this, their loved ones, and especially those who have lost someone. You know who you are. Sincere appreciation. I and mine are safe tonight.

And, a wish for those serving in the Middle East:

The Giants begin a three game series against the Mets at Shea Stadium starting Tuesday evening.

Considering the Giants have no one else that can hurt the Mets, does Willie walk San Francisco's broken down, steroid-addled left fielder 12 times (four times per game)?

I doubt they walk Bonds just for the sake of walking him. He'd been in a slump until he hit one out today.

They'll probably approach it the same as everyone else. Take the bat out of his hands if he can change the direction of the game with one swing. If not, go after him.

That's my point. Bonds is the one guy on that team that can hurt the opposition. Why pitch to him?

Justin Morneau is quietly making a bid to repeat as MVP.

Went upper deck above the football press box with the GWHR today.

Kruk's comment on BBTN: "The only way Nick Punto's getting up there is with a ticket."

Morneau's not even the MVP on his own team.

Holy shit. Those poor fucks strapped to the front of Lord Humungus' vehicle in Road Warrior had a better road trip than the Brewers did in their recent Mets-Phillies-Dodgers-Padres swing. Eeghads.

    Yeah, he is.

Torii's been hot, but check Morneau's stats.

    He's the engine...

Great, Hunter's hot, Morneau's hot, Santana's pitching tomorrow and the Sox offense was last seen in August of last year. The next three days should suck.

The Brewers could get well against the Braves. They've lost 10 of 14.
