And hadn't won a game since last May in relief. Go Yankees! Get the No. 1 draft pick.

I'm rooting against the Brewers for the rest of the season because of this site (except for Estrada, hi spnited!), but I do love your Atom Heart Mother sig. Nothing like a little Floyd being introduced to the general public here.

Sadly, I still hold out hope the Yankees will win the wild card. If they aren't going to, I would rather they just lose 20 in a row now so I don't have to invest a summer in them, but I see the central beating up on each other and the Yankees stealing the wild card.

By the way, bostonbred and lantaur, if the Yankees steal the Wild Card, then it is fucking on. (notice *if*). The Yankees will beat the Sox in a playoff series.

God, what an ending to a shitty year for me that would be. I could care less if they win the World Series - though I would enjoy it. I just want them to beat the shitty fucking, piece of shit bloody sock bullshit Curt Schilling/deep flyball to left, that will send the Yankees to the World Series-Tim Wakefield, fucking Red Sox.
And, if and when, the Yankees don't make the playoffs, I look forward to the Sox losing to some awful team like the Tigers, who will promptly lose to the goddamn Cardinals.

It's going to be a very long year for you, Angola.

  6. I wonder if this was a payback to what A.J. did to Morneau in which A.J. stepped on Justin's leg. Gardenhire was fired up in the sixth inning and he had some words with A.J.

  7. What a good story too.

He could have lost his confidence for good like Byung-Hyun Kim., who never recovered after blowing couple of World Series saves. He had a lousy time as a closer, but he has been able to do well as a starter. Good for him.

Not to mention everybody predicting the bullpen would be horrible again. Joe Borowski had some ugly outings early, but he's been decent enough.

Plus, Jhonny Peralta is producing again. So far, he has as many RBI (33) as Travis Hafner and one more home run (10 to 9). If I remember right, Peralta had vision problems corrected in the offseason. It also looks like they have finally settled into a lineup with Ryan Garko at first base and Casey Blake back at third. Garko should have been in that lineup every day

The Indians might get even better as the season goes. Hafner is not going to hit .259 all year and Josh Barfield is coming around at second base.

I called Cleveland and Milwaukee. Not the Yanks, though.

Speaking of the Indians, what is going on with Hafner? He is batting .189 in May.

Is it just because nobody will throw him a strike and he isn't adjusting well to that. He took a lot of walks before, but he's heading into Bonds during the 73-homer season territory now.

I know he has had elbow problems, which is part of why you rarely see him in the field. Any rumblings about him being hurt?

Raul Ibanez has a bad back, and despite some recent improvement in hitting--after a four-game layoff--it's still bothering him. I claim this as one who has had problems for years; I'm just watching his face and the way he carries himself. One homerun so far this year for Ibanez after 34 last year.
Likewise, something's bothering Hafner. A close observer might be able to say what.

Aaron Hill just stole home. The Blue Jays lead the Yanks, 2-1, in the top of the eighth.
