So I just watched the replays and I'm trying to figure out those balks. Taking the definition of a balk so literally, it makes the NFL's pass interference look blatantly obvious.

    He flinched visibly both times.

    They were no-brainers.

The second balk was obvious, I thought. Benitez moved his front leg as if he was going into his motion, then stopped. The first one, I didn't catch anything.

I was about to say the first one looked a little ticky-tack, while the second one you could see from the International Space Station.

Gotta give Dusty Baker a little credit, btw. Earlier in the game with Reyes on first he mentioned that Balkin' Bob Davidson was the first base ump and said a balk call wouldn't be a surprise.

Davidson called the first one, according to the ESPN.com story.

    Where's my buddy Simon C.?

see the line tonight, buddy? See the highlights? Had better curves than a fucking swimsuit model.

You better hope he needs his fingers amputated. There is no way, none, you are winning the bet if he makes even 27 starts.

I agree the second one was more noticeable. There was at least some movement, as subtle as it was. In most cases though they're so unbelievably subtle, and then they do that fake to third and turn around to first, which is clearly a deceptive move, and that's okay.
