In case no one noticed, the Yankes are done. D-O-N-E, done. I hope they trade Matsui and Abreu, as well as Clemens (if possible) and find a way to void Giambi's contract. Then they can see what Tabata has, move Damon to left and go after Hunter or Jones in the offseason.
God, I wish Steinbrenner and the Tampa folks hadn't forced the Yankees to trade for Johnson and sign Sheffield. If they hadn't, the Yankees would have Beltran in center and Guerrero in right and I wouldn't be posting this.
    So it goes.

    You must be drinking heavily.

Angola admitting the Yankees are toast before the first of June?

Seriously, how shitfaced are you? :D

Sorry but none of those guys are getting traded. Well, maybe clemens. I could see him bullying his way out of there.

What gave you that idea, the fact that the Royals are fewer games behind the Tribe than the Yankees are to the Sox?

In all seriousness, I would wait and see what happens with this weekend's series before burying the Yankees.

The problem with baseball is you always have hope, but then A. Rios steals home and you realize your team sucks.
Seriously, though, I think Matsui has trade value and Abreu might if he ever bothered to hit higher than .230 this season, since he is a free agent with an option (a hideous one at that).

BTW, watching the highlights of the Yanks-Jays game, what was the bigger WTF moment:

    1. Hill steals home.

    2. Damon attempts to throw someone out at the plate and barely makes second base.

Seriously, the guy has one of the worst arms of all time...

You can have (Junk) Jones now if you want him!

Your first question, I would answer this way: As bad as the Yankees start is, it wouldn't be that bad if the Red Sox weren't playing out of their minds right now.
Second statement: I'd agree, but the Yanks took two of three and then have promptly lost five in a row to fall into last place, so I don't have any confidence in the "bombers" anymore.
They have been getting great pitching lately, yet the "vaunted" offense has been absolutely awful. It would take a sweep of the Red Sox to give me any hope.

It was Aaron Hill, but your confusion is understandable given your state of mind. :D

I don't think Matsui has much trade value. He's signed for at least one more year after this, his range is declining and he's not a real difference-maker on offense. Abreu? It'll be tough to move him even if the Yanks pick up his salary. He's proving the Philly naysayers 10000% correct.

I bet he takes better routes to fly balls then Hideki Matsui.

I wish I could say that I hated to see you like this, Angola. ;)

Matsui's defense is awful, but he is still a good hitter and being left-handed helps.
Abreu getting traded is a pipe dream, but one can always hope. Just like one can hope Beckett breaks his arm (by the way, that is Red Sox hate; not so much wanting you to lose your bet).

There is a reason I have avoided this thread for a week. I didn't need to see all of you fuckers yukking it up at my expense.
