Did Piazza miss time with a quad injury in 2004?

Was that before or after he went on the 15-day DL with sand in his vagina?

Doc, we're talking about Mike Pizza, not Mark Prior.

Who knew a century of ineptitude would make one so touchy?

Prior's vagina got sandy during a simulated game in spring training. Not the same thing.

Oh, so the dickhead is comparing a guy who was 35 at the time and had caught more than 1500 games and was the best offenisve catcher of his generation (one of the top 3 or 4 of all-time) with a 24-year-old who hasn't even caught 300 games in the majors and is a singles hitter.
    Yeah, that makes sense.

And Angola, you better remember 2000...that memory is gonna have to last you another 8 or 10 years.

That's true. Mike Piazza was busy putting together a first-ballot Hall-of-Fame career. Mark Prior was busy on the DL with a discoloration of an ass cheek.

spnited - what memory are you hanging on to? 1986?

    Nope...I simply live in the present...Mets +5...Yankees -14 1/2

I'm not an arrogant Yankees fan (oops, redundancy) who thinks it is a birthright to win the World Series...while conveniently forgetting that between 1962-1996 the Yankees won exactly 2 World Series (77 and 78).

I wouldn't say I am an arrogant Yankees fan either (read, I don't boo Yankees just because they are in a slump). I grew up a Yankees fan in the 1980s and early 1990s suffering. I watched awful Yankees-Mariners games where there were all of 12,000 people at the Kingdome. I also suffered through everyone in Seattle becoming Mariners fans overnight when they beat the Yankees in 1995.
I just wanted to point out to you, Mets fan, that it is funny that I am supposed to remember 2000 because it will be the last one for 8-10 years, even though in 8-10 years the Yankees will still have won a World Series more recently than the Mets have now.

Ha! No, I'm not referring to Piazza's injury, when his groin tore off the bone and douchebag PR guy made a big show of helping him hobble out of the visitor's locker room in SF. That was 2003, anyway, you dummy!!!!

I'm talking about your boy! Jose Reyes! and his leg injuries!

Not very nice to call Mauer a wuss when Reyes missed two-thirds of the 2004 season with leg injuries that had people questioning his toughness...questions he's certainly answered over the last two-plus years.

    ZING!!!!!

Sorry Angola but you sound like my wife, whom I love dearly but is a spoiled Yankee fan even if she fails to see it. She talks about how she didn't get to experience a championship until 1996 because she was too young to remember anything about '78 other than trying to find her dad on TV (he was at the game). And she talks about how she suffered from '89 thru '92.

Of course she was twenty-fucking-one years old in 1996, so it wasn't exactly a long track record of futility she'd experienced. And the Yankees' worst years were better than most of the Mets' good years in that span. So I had no patience for her "suffering." Nor yours. no offense, but you've enjoyed four titles in 11 years. You can suffer like the rest of the world for a little while.
