Wisconsin just went an entire game with one turnover while routing Iowa, 82-50. Even more amazing is that the turnover was a shot-clock violation where they got a shot off and it just barely missed the iron. No individual turnovers, one team turnover.

Donnie Tyndall's the early season leader for COTY; what he's done with a roster he cobbled together in two weeks is miraculous. Remains to be seen if he last's the season, though, due to the mess he left behind in Hattie, but for now, his Vols are second in the Southern...I mean the SEC.

First time seeing the Buckeyes. They have a freshman (No. 0) who can ball. You'll be seeing one of his passes on SportsCenter tonight.

Here's that pass. Freshman. 33 points tonight with 6 assists and 0 turnovers.

Roster management is part of coaching. If Boeheim doesn't have an ACC-level point guard on his roster, that's on him.

Do any other "elite" coaches have as many down years as Boeheim? He's on his way to missing the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time since 1995 and there were a couple other years where Syracuse's inclusion in the field was awfully questionable. He's also on his way to finishing fifth or worse in conference play for the 10th time in his career (Cuse's record looks OK right now, but the schedule is going to get much tougher).

K, Roy, Self, Pitino, Calipari have those kind of seasons much less frequently. His old rival, John Thompson, took over a terrible Georgetown program and once he got it established was much more consistent. His worst years were a couple of fifth-place Big East finishes and NIT appearances near the end of his run.

Watched the first 10 minutes of the second half of Kentucky v. Cocks while on the elliptical at the gym (humblebrag! Hi, YF).

Kentucky tried to give it away but Martin just doesn't have a long-distance shooter. He has enough thoroughbreds, almost too many on the court at one time. For the best bang you have 3 studs, a Cornbread Maxwell or Bo Outlaw or Kurt Rambis type, and a goddamn sniper -- preferably a little cracker from the sticks.

South Carolina probably could have won this game but the team's chemistry is askew.

To be fair, there were years that they got screwed by the committee.

Michigan Wisky was a good game.

    Wisky in OT. They're strong.

Tyndall is a very personable guy, but you only have to meet him once to know that he's pretty shady. Give him props for getting people to actually care about Southern Miss hoops, but now they're paying the price. They've already self-imposed a postseason ban, which is convenient since they weren't going to make the C-USA Tournament anyway. They did win last night, however, at North Texas in OT, and that's one more conference win than anyone expected this season.
