What you shound also know is that a team with a track record of blowing big games found a way to lose another one. And one where they were the better team.

How is Warner not a lock? Three Super Bowl trips, chance to two rings. Has two MVPs. All in a short career. If he had played longer, who knows?

I'm just telling what one guy who has covered the NFL longer than most people here have been alive and is on the HOF committee had to say.

The previous two passes McNabb threw were terrible. That fourth down shouldn't have happened.

The Giants won the Super Bowl by beating the greatest regular-season team in NFL history. Stop with this nonsense. If the Cardinals win the Super Bowl, they would have won four straight games as the underdog. They will certainly have earned it, and they damn sure earned this Super Bowl trip.

Amazing he's not a little bit smarter with those credentials.

And now only five teams have not played in a Super Bowl.

Browns, Texans, Jaguars, Lions and Saints.

Warner's story is amazing. Plain and simple. It's like something out of a book.

This one makes me sick. The Eagles other championship game losses have hurt, but not like this.
In 2001, we were happy to be there. The Rams were a hell of a team, and for the Eagles to even be in that game at the end was a bonus.
2002 was deflating. Everything was going their way and they just blew it.
2003 ended when McNabb broke his ankle or whatever the hell he hurt, and we heard the words "...And now Koy Detmer will try to lead the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXVIII."
The Super Bowl season sucked because it was a winnable game. They got over one hump and couldn't get over Mt. Belichick.
Now this one. This combines the worst of all the other losses. It was a winnable game, against a beatable opponent. They came back and then the defense gives up the late TD drive. We got the reminder of the Super Bowl, with McNabb and Reid coming up short at the end.
Worst of all, there's a feeling that this might be the end of the run. There's questions about Reid, McNabb, Dawkins and some other key players aren't getting any younger, Westbrook can't stay healthy for a full season and they STILL don't have a damn go-to wide receiver. The Giants are still on the rise, and if the Cowboys ever get their act together they're going to be tough to get through.
The warts are showing, and I can't help but wonder if this was this group's last gasp. Blowing it up and staring at five years' worth of 6-10 seasons is almost as depressing as thinking about getting to the brink and having it snatched away again.

    Kurt Warner 2002-07:

6 seasons, 42 starts, QB Rec, 13-29, Avg. QB Rating 81.9.

4 good years, 6 very bad years doesn't a Hall of Fame QB make.
