Pass it on to any sports editors or copy editors who desperately need to see it. :D

What's the record for the longest NFL game that ended in regulation?
The Steelers and Ravens seem like they're on pace for four hours.

Could also set a record for most viewers put to sleep by abominably boring football.

I still think most Saints fans would trade two Super Bowls and one Lombardi trophy for what the New Orleans franchise did in the past 20 years, and I don't think Rams fans would trade for New Orleans' resume during that span. Having something to hang on the wall is every franchise's ultimate goal.

But I could be wrong. You have to understand, I grew up roughly halfway between Houston and New Orleans. Not a lot of skins on the walls for the Astros, Oilers and Saints.

If it were Big Dumb instead of a backup wideout, there would have been a moment of silence and Nantz would have said something like, "Golly, what a warrior."

I should have revised/qualified my statement about the 4 miserable franchises.

With regards to the Cardinals and Rams, if you take out Warner's contributions, then, yes, they are more futile than the Saints...

Of course, if Warner was in the black and gold with a '13' slapped on the back, I have no doubt he would have brought at least 3 SB appearances to the fine folks in Louisiana. :)

Interestingly enough, his Super Bowl loss came in the Superdome.

That punt never left the top of the TV screen.

As well as his other playoff loss -- to the Saints in the WC round in 2000. Down 31-3, Warner leads the Rams back to 31-28 and the defense gets a hold...only to have Az-Zahir Hakim muff the punt return in the last two minutes. Game over.

So...keep Warner out of New Orleans and he's 8-0 in the playoffs. :)

  11. I can't believe Nantz just called the reverse a "DOUBLE-reverse!!!"

    Oh, wait, yes I can.

This AFC Championship has got to be the choppiest game I've seen in a while. Between the commercial breaks, the stoppages for timeouts and reviews and generally fits and starts offenses, it's hard to get excited about the closeness of the score.

judging from the lack of conversation about the game, I figure I'm not alone.
