It's not going to be enough, judging by pot shots tossed back and forth Thursday.

You mean PFT wasn't an original source of information? No way!

Think we're going to see another extension, today?

Since there was movement on at least two issues, the rookie wage scale and the 18-game season, we should, but we probably won't, as we appear to have left the rational business argument part of the deal and moved into the dick-measuring stage.

The big rumor is that the Cardinals are going to send the No. 5 pick in the draft to Philly for Kevin Kolb.

I think it's too much, but it appears I am in the minority.

Holy crap, that's steep! Then again, the Texans traded two second-round picks to Atlanta for Matt Schaub, and Kolb is very similar to Schaub at the same stage in their careers.

Matt Cassel only cost KC the No. 34 overall pick, and Cassel had at least started basically a full season. What's Kolb got, seven career starts?

I think that Atlanta game did wonders for Kolb's stock. I agree that the No. 5 pick seems too high for someone who has only shown flashes.

It kind of fits with the stories that were saying Philly wanted a No. 1 and a No. 3 for him. The Cards might not be willing to wait for Gabbert or Newton to develop.

Could the lack of a slam dunk top QB prospect this year have something to do with it?

I think so. I don't know if I would rather have Kolb or Gabbert. If Arizona needs to win now to keep Fitzgerald, Kolb might be the way to go.

I don't know what to think about Cam Newton anymore. I still think he falls no further than the Vikings at No. 12, but I think if he has a good workout he could go top 3.

If I were in the top 10 and needing a QB I'd be shitting my pants about Cam Newton. He's a freak of nature but I'd put his bust potential as high as anybody in this draft.

I don't know... I remember at the combine the year Vince Young came out, I was asking a scout about Young and he said, "I wouldn't touch him with a top 20 pick."

I asked him if he thought he'd fall that far and he said, "No, there will be one team with a high pick that will fall in love with him and take him."

I think the same thing will happen with Newton, who I think is a better prospect than Vince was coming out of college.
