Wow -- it's been since April that this thread was alive. Lockouts suck.

    Anyhoo...

    Last call for Kerry Collins...

Collins finished 11th all-time in yards passing ahead of Unitas and at least a dozen Hall of Famers. One of the more interesting careers I've seen considering I thought he was done after Carolina. Maybe there is hope for a few other reclamation projects.

Before this gets locked, whatever Ward did in the hour from leavingthe Buckhead bar and when he was pulled over will probably be very interesteing.

Maybe he was helping IJAG move in? :)

    Similar career path to Testaverde.

In no way, shape or form is Kerry Collins in Canton.

    And Plunkett,

Shows that a QB with a strong arm can stay around for a while. Sometimes it just takes finding the right offense.

Also think it takes a while to learn patience.

The difference is that Plunkett won two Super Bowls.

But I agree that Collins was a better QB than he was ever given credit for being, as was Testaverde.

The comparison with Plunkett is interesting because it's another high pick who didn't meet expectations initially, who went on to have a very respectable/good career.

But, yeah Plunkett has two rings, which puts him a few levels above Collins and Testaverde.

Not making an argument Collins belongs in Canton. You see a lot of qbs pick up big passing yardage because they are on teams that suck and are down a bunch, ergo, they throw a lot against defenses playing soft coverages.

OK, am I missing something here?

The NFL owners have ratified a new CBA but apparently the PA hasn't seen the final deal.

    http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/football/owners-vote-to-end-nfl-lockout/article2105666/

DeMaurice Smith sent an email to team reps saying: “Issues that need to be collectively bargained remain open; other issues, such as workers' compensation, economic issues and end of deal terms, remain unresolved. There is no agreement between the NFL and the players at this time.”

More corporate bullying from the pampered NFL owners.

I suspect the sheeple fans will back the owners.

I suspect this will get done quickly now, but the players really don't have a lot of incentive to jump. The owners are trying to save preseason games where the players don't get paid, but the owners bring in a couple hundred million. The HOF game is already canceled, but don't be surprised if the players take a few days before this is finalized. I was very surprised they went ahead and canceled the HOF game. I thought Goodell would just make the teams as they are show up for a glorified practice.
