Hasselbeck reportedly agrees to terms with TitansNFL.com

Veteran free-agent quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has reportedly agreed to terms on a multiyear deal with the Tennessee Titans, sources confirmed to NFL Network’s Albert Breer on Wednesday. Hasselbeck, who will be 36 in September, presumably will start for the Titans and help groom first-round draft pick Jake Locker, who was able to follow Hasselbeck’s career closely while playing at the University of Washington. Hasselbeck played the past 10 seasons in Seattle and led the Seahawks to Super Bowl XL, the team’s only Super Bowl appearance.

A little long with the four years, but this guy has been the #1 corner on three Super Bowl teams.

    The price was probably right.

Reminds me of the line about famed 1962 Met Marv Throneberry:

"He played in 125 games last year."

"Yes, but he didn't play well in any of them."

Taylor is a very good corner. It's the #2 corner Pittsburgh needs to worry about.

Since there was no way they were going to spend what it would take to get an elite corner, they pretty much had to do this.

If Ike could hang on to half of the picks that hit him in the hands, he would be an elite corner. Albeit an aging one. :)

And an erratic ones. He still has days when he is absolutely terrible and those will probably come more often as he loses a step. Still, by far their best option.

I'm not asking him to catch everything, just the ones that his him in the hands. Currently, he plays the corner position like Limus Sweed plays reciever. Does everything right except actually catching the ball. That all being said, I am glad they re-signed him. He is a very solid corner who usually takes the No 1 reciever out of the game for opposing teams.

I know what you mean.. And like you, I am glad they re-signed him.

It's tough to doubt the Steelers when it comes to free agency and who to keep and not to keep.
