I figured. Roethlisberger is recruiting Burress to come back. Supposedly, Mike Tomlin is having dinner with Burress Saturday.

I do remember there being some talk that one reason the Steelers didn't want to keep Burress when he became a free agent the first time around was that they wanted to get a bad influence away from Roethlisberger. Insert your own joke there.

Also, they signed top pick Cameron Heyward. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11210/1163817-100.stm

    will
    wow. just wow.

    bye-bye, assante samuel.

but mostly, just for the out-of-the-blue factor, WOW. JUST WOW!

philly obviously loading up on corners to take on the packers...

expect big jets news tonight. tannenbaum, woody, sexy rexy always try to quickly make a splash to placate fans when player transactions go awry.

now, if they re-sign cromarties and edwards now, no-harm, no-foul in relation to last year's squad. but if their flirtation with nnami has cost them an insulted cromartie or edwards, oooooh-baby! jets will look silly.

i'm expecting to tannenbaum will now offer both more dollars than he wanted to and that should get it done. doolars trumps hard feelings pretty much every time, no? ??? ??? ???

    Re: Running NFL Offseason Thread

my tongue-in-cheek reference to the jets bidding for nnamdi was that sexy rexy would not get the credit he craves for being a defensive genius if he has so many star players. i'd always thought rex loved making folks believe he could scheme his way to having a top defense, whether he had super players or not. obviously, my point was poorly exexute.

oh, an i'm sure that if they don't re-sign edwards not mr. t will almost certainly sign one of the many available pretty good receivers. so now my overall point is that the jets went from making the big splashes they love to make to possibly being left weaker than last season.

stunning, 'cause i thought EVERY player in the league was dying to play for rex. what b.s. players, especially in the short life-span of the nfl, go with the most money virtually every time.

While I fully endorse the Eagles choking, I'm not in favor of wishing bodily harm on any player that would fall under gruesome. I just hope they choke in games involving Dallas and ultimately, if they get to them, the playoffs.

How about wishing Vick suffers an injury equivalent to those he inflicted?

And Michael Irvin needs to stop smoking crack. At least before he goes on the air. He's making an ass of himself on NFLN.

I believe a friend of mine always says: Career-threatening, not life ending.

And look, I hate the Eagles probably as much as anyone can hate a team, and I'd like to say I'd wish Vick to have his nuts ripped off by a pit bull and then slip on the blood into a fully charged power line, but I'm not the best example of having a "right mind" when it comes to the NFL and I'm trying to walk the line here if you know what I mean. I'm sure others will :)

For every Michael Vick in Eagles colors, there's a good guy wearing the same uniform.

Frankly, I'm glad they're putting it out there for a title run.

How good of a guy does one have to be to make up for his subhuman dog killer teammate?

Let's hope DeSean Jackson fucks everything up.
