Yeah, I can't wish for bodily harm to happen to a player... Especially now that Brett Favre has retired. :D

Does adding two Pro Bowl defensive backs make Philly the favorite in the NFC?

I think I'd still take the Packers.

Remember they have 3 Pro Bowl DBs now. Asante Samuel is still there, for now at least. The thing that worries me about the Eagles, or maybe I should say comforts me a little, is that their running game is mucked up aside from Vick and that Vick himself is injury prone. And Vince Young, the perceived backup, is a headcase and would be curled up in a ball on the sidelines crying because of the fans if he threw an INT at a key point in a Cowboys-Eagles game.

I actually think Vince Young will benefit greatly from Reid's tutelage. He'll probably have to start 1-2 games and if he does well, the Eagles will be able to trade him in a year or two from a team that will be stupid enough to think Vince can be a starter again.

What's so stupid about thinking Young can be a starter again? Lot of teams would give their back molars to get a starter with a career record of 30-17.

And believe it or not, there have been documented cases of problem children actually, like, growing up.

Lots of teams? I guess that's why he took a deal to be a backup. That makes no sense.

A lot of teams needed an experienced starting QB and none were interested in Young. I don't see Young as merely a "problem child" I think he's a head case, and there's a big difference.

Exactly. That's why he went to a team where he has no chance to contend for a starting job.

Well, I'll say it here: He will be an NFL starting quarterback again.

I notice you didn't predict any success, just that he'll be a starter again. :D

Given the overall quality of QBs in the league, that's not saying much, which makes me think Young really had problems in Tennessee to come out of that and not be able to land a starting gig, while over-the-hill guys like Hasselbeck and McNabb and an unproven youngster like Kolb had no trouble getting another shot.
