INDEED, opposing teams and their offensive coordinators are losing no sleep over cullen. and i've been chortling all afternoon over the nfl network breathlessly running amok with repeating this vince young observation: 'it's like a 'dream team.' ::) ::) ::)

    VINCE freakin' YOUNG, personnel expert.

Jenkins missed significant time in two of the last three seasons and part of the reason he was effective when he was healthy last year was because teams were doubling up on Matthews and Raji.

Babin is another guy who has been in the league for awhile and has really only had one really good season.

Exactly. The people bashing the moves are making quite a few assumptions.

I don't see the point in comparing any of these moves to Haynesworth, who had already shown the tendency to dog it for large stretches of time, even multiple games, and was arguably one of the most predictable free agent busts in recent history.

I have a lot of respect for the organization. It's just interesting when teams start throwing money around like that that makes me want them to lose. I've just always preferred the teams that draft and develop and make a deal here or there rather than ones that just start throwing money around.

If he could block worth a shit, do you think the Steelers let him go?

If he is your starting TE, you will probably have the worst starting TE in almost every game you play.

93D, you just said three pages ago that if Spaeth was the starting TE, he'd be about the 20th to 25th best TE in the NFL. Now he's almost the worst? Doesn't really matter, though, because I suspect you and oop will keep missing the point that he was brought in as a situational player, not the starter or replacement for Olsen. Now, tell me what kind of starter he'll be.

Or you can't understand the benefit of an evaluation of his entire game regardless of how the Bears plan to use him. Even blocking tight ends are called upon to catch once in a while, just as pass-catchers are expected to be able to block a little.

I get that he isn't a starter. You asked if he is a strong blocker and he isn't. His value in Pittsburgh was that he could fill in for Miller's role in the passing game when Miller was on the sidelines. He is a mediocre back-up. Enjoy.

If he is the 25th best starting TE in the NFL, that would make him very close to the worst starting TE in the NFL.

Chad Johnson (or whatever he wants to call himself) insists he is going to be a good boy and Albert Haynesworth supposedly fails his conditioning test. Should be fun in New England.

As opposed to the typical All-Pro-caliber backups?
