Which brings us right back to Grossman.

He'll probably have the kind of season Manning had as a senior where they expected him to win the national title and the Heisman and he won neither.

And then he'll become the No. 1 pick and be an instant superstar.

Apparently the Eagles, in their latest bout of desperation, have a contract offer out there for Randy Moss.

Read that report. Seems odd they'd do that AFTER his retirement announcement. Reid and Banner may need a free agency intervention.

Why is trying to win seen as desperation?

I respect a team going all in to try to win it all. I just don't think Philly is making the right moves.

The Eagles are a great organization that usually makes pretty good decisions. Asomugha was a great move. But overpaying for two defensive linemen, one of whom is injury-prone and both of whom are over 30 is idiotic.

Adding Moss would be a big risk for that team.

They are only committed to those moves through next year. They still are a young team and have a ton of draft picks going forward. I didn't think you'd be on of those people who fall for the lentgh and term of contract BS.

I understand it. Trust me, I know how much garbage is in NFL contracts. The agent tells you the deal is worth X amount and then you read the contract and there's a $13 mil option in year 7 of the deal when the player will be 35.

So you don't think Randy Moss can be brought in and put on a very short leash by Andy Reid? If he can follow the program, you have the third receiver to complement Jackson and Maclin -- or better.

Again, I don't see any desperation to it. The Eagles have had an unreal free-agent period.

Randy Moss is going to be happy and non-disruptive as a third receiver? Don't see it.

I wonder how many teams with 6-7 new starters have won Super Bowls.

As far as Moss goes, Reid might get a decent year out of him if he's content not being the go-to guy.

My whole issue is that I don't think Jenkins or Babin are worth it.

Do Jenkins and Babin make them better next year? The answer is obviously yes. They are not tied to them long term like you are making it out to be
