And if they overpaid for them, really, what's the issue anyway? If they provide something, if they're plus additions rather than minus additions, and if they're inside the cap, then all that's hurt is some fat cat's pocketbook.

Oh yes, the QB guru Ozzie Newsome.

Still. Beck is a very marginal NFL talent.

From what I have seen, Luck is a hell of a lot stronger with the football than Manning.

I won't go as far as to say he'll be better than Manning. It would seem foolish to compare any college player to one of the best QBs of all-time.

Elway is widely regarded as the best NFL prospect ever, or at least the best of the last 30-40 years. Apparently, Luck is rated at a similar level, which is just scary.

Dan Marino - not a "pusher" or a user

I agree though that Luck compares a lot more to Elway than Manning. The guy is a hoss.

And cerebral, too. Don't forget about that. Luck has an excellent mind.

A little scary here. Eagles' Mike Patterson has a seizureduring practice. Apparently released and feeling fine, though.

Before Stanford's bowl game this year, I read something where Luck was compared to Steve Young and Elway. People forget how well he can run.

All I know is that I'd want him on my team. Unfortunately, he'll probably be on the Panthers, Seahawks or Bengals.

Newton will be released for refusing to speak to Peter King after practice.

If the Panthers get the No. 1 pick again, what they should do would be trade Newton and draft Luck. Whether they would actually do that remains to be seen.
