No, it was the police report. Even if he didn't rape the girl, his behavior that night was disgusting. He got her drunk so he could take advantage of her. He had his very large friends (including Willie Colon, who gets way too much of a pass on this), bring her to him in that bathroom and not let anybody in. And that is an extremely tame description of the parts of the story that are factual.

Do I think the charge in Nevada is a joke? Yeah, I do. And if anybody around here would have bothered to read the stories that have come out about it and could come at it with anything close to a reasonable eye, they would, too. Even the woman's friends says he was bragging about having sex with him the next day.

But to suggest that he didn't even deserve the suspension? That's ridiculous.

I know I get killed on this (and a few other things) but at least I stick to my guns on it.

And now to move away from this...

Russell is the biggest draft bust ever.

Especially when you consider the next two choices might be the HOF someday in Thomas and Johnson.

This is what is running through my head right now: a new NBC fall show. Law & Order: 93D. Theme music is "93Devil, Crime Scene Investigator!" set to Priceline commercial music (the one starring William Shatner).

93Devil is lead sex crimes investigator.

Detective: 93, we have a suspect in custody. We caught him fleeing the scene of an alleged rape. Victim has positively ID'd him.
    93: Any priors?
Detective: Two alleged rapes. No convictions. The suspect is loaded. Had some good lawyers.
93: Any alleged rapes in the past year?
Detective: No. Just over 365 days.
    93: Fuck!!!!
    (new detective enters room)
ND: 93, the DNA from the suspect's semen is a match. Also, his wife is in the lobby. She's demanding to see him.
93: Wait, he's married? Fuck!!!!! Turn him loose.

    -cue music-

    93Devil, Crime Scene Investigator!

Sticking to ones guns when they are out to lunch is not something to be proud of.

I think OOP nails it. I think the Nevada charge is heaping pile of bullshit but his actions in Georgia, whether charged or not are disgusting.

Tony Mandarich was the only person drafted in the Top 5 in 1989 who is not in the Hall of Fame (Aikman, Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas, Deion Sanders).

Not saying that makes him a bigger bust than Russell --- I personally think it's Leaf or Russell --- but it's interesting.

I agree on Russell being the biggest draft bust ever.

Mandarich is the NFL's version of Sam Bowie, but while he came nowhere close to living up to the hype, at least he wasn't out of the NFL in four years.

Working on the biggest bust, I found the worst draft ever...

Mizzou, redo this draft after the fact and give me a top 10.

    Ware, White, Mankins, then...

Don't forget Cadillac Williams. He was the heart and soul of the Bucs for a while! (filling in for BYH, who is still MIA)

    Rodgers wouldn't be No. 1?

    Shit, you are right.

That draft just struck me as how bad or injury prone 1-10 seemed to be.
