I thought he was going to be a good one, too. Must have been all those years watching Jerome Bettis. I learned to appreciate what a big back can do if he can keep his weight within reason. Unfortunately for White, he couldn't do that.

no, i didn't forget. that's how stacked usc was... as someone else put it, bush and white split time. i believe they pretty much alternated series. but reggie was an 'every-down' back, not in the sense he played every down, from start to finish, but in the sense he played full series, every down, running 'tween the tackles and outside, short-yardage, goal line, etc. but running 'tween the tackles at sc behind that mammoth line didn't give us any true sense of how reggie would run 'tween the tackles in the nfl.

very interested to see how the dolphins use bush this season. will they give him a chance to be a three-down back again or expect him to be just a situational back from the get-go? i'm curious 'cause everyone seemed to think the fish were interested in ahmad bradshaw, too, but dropped out once they got reggie. does this mean they still believe there's hope for bush on all downs? remember, ronnie brown and ricky williams are gone. is reggie expected to be the so-called 'bell-cow' or is there someone in the mix i'm forgetting?

    For his career? Maybe.

Point being, he wasn't asked to play full time. You and I are obviously defining "every-down back" differently.

The Dolphins still have Ronnie Brown, right?

I believe Ronnie Brown is now in Philly.

Yes, Brown is in Philly, and Williams is in Baltimore. It's Bush and rookie Daniel Thomas.

I missed that one. The Dolphins are kidding themselves if they think Bush can be a full-time back.

Alex Smith sucks. I am a proud Niners fanboy, but I was cursing something awful when they picked him. I wanted Rodgers. It was a rare instance where I was right. :D

I think Smith's problem is that he has no heart. I'm sure he learned that from Urban Meyer. Smith is great when the Niners are down by three touchdowns and there's no pressure on him. Put him in there in a game where they need to win, and he shits the bed every time.
