UM, isn't this two days old?

but, yeah, maybin's buffalo's version of vernon gholston. both deserved to be cut by the end of their rookie training camps -- two guys drafted to be pass rushers, one pick sixth overall, the other 11th in their drafts, and were cut without ever recording a sack. and gholston was given three seasons!

oh, yes, they're very high on the 'all-time busts' list.

I think it happened Monday actually, but no one had yet posted it. Sorry if I diverted attention away from the riveting John Elway-Fran Tarkenton/Tarkington debate.

no worries.... and jets are reportedly one of four teams interested in signing maybin. guess gholston wasn't bad enough. bills gm says maybin's weight is 228. he weighed 250 at comine two years ago and bills figured he could add and meintain weight. guess not.

Speaking of busts, farewell Limas Sweed. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

Sweed was a second-round pick. Nowhere near a bust.

Macho Harris as a Steeler might appeal to some on this board, though.

You don't have to be a first-round pick to be a bust. Second rounders have value as well. (See also: LaMarr Woodley). Sweed has it all. Great size and athleticism. The speed to get open. Seems to have a great work ethic and attitude. Shows good hands in practice.

Then the games start and he shits himself.

There are many second rounders who will get cut their first training camp.

Dude, how far are you going to go just to try to argue that a Steelers' draft pick wasn't a bust? It's okay to admit they made a pick that turned out badly. It made sense at the time. He seemed like exactly what they needed. It's damn tough to figure out that a guy who was productive in college will suddenly lose the ability to make plays during a game.

I'd like to see this long list of second-round picks who were cut during their first training camp.

It must be a long list to justify use of the word "many."

After you read that list can you pass it to me? I'd love to see the "many" names on it.
