Usually the highest-drafted player who doesn't make a NFL team is a third or fourth rounder.

I can't think of any second-rounders who didn't make the team. Exceptions might be an injury or a legal or drug issue.

Clarett was a third-rounder who got cut. That might be the highest ever ...

Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas are two second-rounders who got cut during their first camp. Oh, wait. No they didn't. Fuck.

... or the Bills might have let Aaron Maybin go as a rookie if he had been drafted one round later.

Can't believe that the Jets might pick him up. Doesn't it follow that he had to be a colossal bust if Buffalo pulled the plug that early?

There are a lot of second-rounders who should have been cut during their first training camp, but they weren't because the team obviously at one point saw potential in that guy and they're willing to give him a year or two to develop.

I'm still waiting for one to be named.

There was a Vikings player a few years back who I thought might have been cut as a rookie after being a second-round pick, but even he got one year on the roster...

How did Kenny Irons, Dan Bazuin, Sergio Kindle, Ben Tate, Vladimir Ducasse, Charles Brown and Paul Toviessi do in the their NFL careers?

What are Donnie Avery, James Hardy, Jordan Dizon, Malcom Kelly, Dexter Jackson and Jeff Otah doing this season? They are all not on an NFL roster and were drafted with Sweed in the 2008 second round.

Calling a second rounder a bust who played 20 games in the NFL is just lengthening the definition of the word bust. Disappointment? Yes. Bust? Come on.

Im not looking up what exactly happened to these guys, but when your name is not linked on Pro Football Database, that means you did not do jack shit as a pro.
