The Colts are wearing down, no doubt. But as long as Manning can play most of the regular season, and they remain in the division with the Titans, Jaguars and Texans, it's hard to see them falling TOO far.

Pouncey has a sprained ankle, but the report tonight is he should be fine for the opener.

Byron Leftwich, however, has a broken arm and will probably go on IR and miss the season.

That might not be a bad thing .. Steelers keep Batch and Dixon.

That Leftwich injury was fricking brutal.

However, Jags fans and some Bucs fans had been wanting to break Leftwich's arm for years now :D

I'm just not impressed with Dixon at all and Batch would be lucky to make it through an entire game at this point. Sure, Leftwich getting hurt is no surprise, but he was still by far their best option behind Roethlisberger.

You can always count on Phil. It's really a disgrace this game wasn't just cancelled:

** OK, side bar for the editors here. Canceled vs. cancelled. I spelled it with to "l"s. Spell check said it was wrong. Changed it to one, but noticed the Post spells it with two. The interwebs says it's the English vs. American spelling. What say you? **

Dunno, but I know it's "two," not "to." ;)

Seriously, I think either is correct. And the print tradition has always been to save space and ink, ergo using one "l" is preferred.

Fuck. I try to be careful here, given the audience. I actually changed one "to" to "two" but missed the other one.

This is a couple days old, but didn't see it while scanning the obvious threads.
The Raiders have apparently retired Jamarcus Russell's number. Terrelle Pryor asked for No. 2 but said he wasn't allowed to have it. No real reason given, but the consensus seems to be no one wants to dredge up memories of or comparisons to Jamarcus.
