    Did I miss the sarcasm font? If not, that's just silly.

    Pish posh.

    8-8 => 9-7 -- congruent to a baseball team going 81-81 and going 91-71.

    People act like there's some sort of dishonor in winning nine games in a league where very little separates the gems from the dross. It's how you get to the 9-7 that matters.

    Sorry for the more than 24-hour delay after actually getting to see a game on the NFL Network, but all the reports are true. Gumbel and Collinsworth are horrible. Favre was fellated like no other and in the pre-game show with Eisen, Faulk, Sanders and Mooch, Favre came over and hugged Mooch and they chatted. Mooch's eyes welled up over that moment and they went back to it several times during the night. Just sickening.

    Oh, yeah, and the game sucked big ones too. Vikings got 3, yes THREE first downs all game. Absolutely awful game.

    Only highlight was the reporter saying Art Shell would be fired and the NFL Network then put up the Raiders' response in full, ripping on its reporter because of the reporter's ties to Mike Shanahan. NFL Network was so proud of its guy that it reshowed that press release from the Raiders over and over.

    I have to disagree on Collinsworth. He's doesn't hold back in his opinions and he obviously knows the game. I think he's one of the better analysts out there.

    The reporder is Adam Shefter (sp?). Did you see his response to the Raiders' statement. He made a great point. The Raiders never actually denied the accuracy of his report. They never said Art Shell would be back as their coach next season.

    They have to give the team the chance to respond to the story, but I think the reporter came off just fine.

    When this is the crown jewel of your broadcast, something is wrong.

    To quote Ben Bradlee, non-denial denial.

    Al Davis looks so bad you can't even really laugh about it anymore. They ran a clip of him using a walker at a hotel.

    Raiders should give their fans a Christmas present. Take the rest of the season off. Oh wait, Moss and the others are already planning to do that as part of their community service. ;D

    Someone at work asked me today what happened to Saturday NFL games.

    "NFL Network," I said. Co-worker just rolled his eyes and started mumbling about how something needs to be worked out. And it does.

    The daytime Saturday games were screwed up before the NFL Network came along.

    Too much New York influence -- later games, shitty New York teams playing in them.
