  1. I don't believe it figures that close, Ben.
    Not this fall.
And even if it does, the congressional side of it doesn't at all.

I've previously stated on numerous occasions that the congressional side will be a hysterical triumph, for which I am deeply grateful.

Hearing Pete Dominici on Imus this morning was but one example. Another overdue retirement, and don't let the door hit you on . . .

Please, don't use "Chris Wallace" and "reporter" in the same sentence. Maybe if he gets a different job, someday.

  4. Outing alert. Zeke is David Brooks:

Along Zeke's line of thinking, I think it's odd that USA Today would push the "Dream Ticket" story in today's editions without focusing mostly on whether he'd ever pick her as the Veep, and whether she'd accept it. But, of course, the story plays the race like it's a tie and has lots of discussion about whether he'd be her No. 2, or she'd be his, as if it could go either way right now.

Zeke, I think I already know the answer, but lemme ask ya this: Is there any scenario in which you'd be ok with her being his Veep? (I know, I know, he doesn't need to pick her; he hates her guts and never would, etc.) But say the party tries to basically pressure him into it. Say she says she'd drop out after Pennsylvania if he tabbed her to be his running mate (which, knowing her ego, she probably would not do, but let's pretend for a second), is there any condition in which you'd be amenable to that scenario?

Or, despite what everyone in the media wants us to think, does she hurt him more than she helps?

She hurts him more than she helps. I truly think that.

Putting them both on the ticket only makes sense from a microtrend level, and only then if you assume that her constituency will only vote for her.

But it also would undercut his best message against McCain -- change, meaningful change.

The deal to be cut is giving HRC the Senate Majority Leader seat. It's also, honestly, where she'd be most effective, IMHO. And sending Harry Reid back to obscurity would be wonderful.

Cut a deal? Why? What is she OWED? Zero. Nothing. She has yet to earn anything by anything but being the wife of a former President.

At this point, any deal that stops the two Democrats from fighting each other and starts them all pulling on the same rope has to be awful tempting to TPTB.

I still don't think the VP slot is going to be her, or Edwards or Richardson.

I think we can safely rule out Geraldine Ferraro too.

The last thing she deserves is a deal.

She imagined she was "under fire" in Bosnia?

    Wait until Denver.

Jesus, who died and made her queen?
