True or not, I hate this shit. I am pissed that HRC supporters play up the race thing for their own gain, and this isn't the only time I've heard of something like this. It goes against everything Democrat principles stand for. It's appalling.

Thanks Zeke. It's this kind of shit that creates the idea that Obama supporters won't support HRC if she gets the nomination. I know it affects my opinion of her campaign, even if she's not doing it directly.

Which almost makes it worse because I see right through it.

It's the same tactics Rove used with Bush, let someone else throw the controversial red meat out there and then the candidate is blameless when he/she is called on it.

Fuck that. If the candidate had any integrity, they'd take the race shit off the table and repudiate anyone who tries to play that game in their name. It's one thing to campaign that HRC doesn't have as good a shot against McCain as Obama has, there's polls to back that up at the present. It's quite another to play to racism bubbling under the surface without proof to back it up.

I'm aware enough and cynical enough to know the stuff Rendell brings up is political posturing, but many Joe Blow voters -- and like me, we're all Joe Blow voters -- are sick of this win-at-all-costs shit. It's bad for politics, bad for both candidates, and definitely bad for the Democrats.

IF She doesn't win the nom (and I continue to regard that as quite a significant IF, even now . . . ), the most entertaining moments of this year will come during her first moments on camera after she comes to the realization that She's not going to get There.

Should it come to that, those moments will speak volumes.

But not surprising in the least.

Or it could be viewed as someone making a candid political assessment about a specific primary race in which he has strong knowledge of the territory.

    It very well could.

But you have to factor in that Rendell is a HRC boy, as well.

Or, alternatively, you could stop being offensive.

Rendell's comment was made in a meeting with the Post-Gazette editorial board. He went on to say that he thinks his margin over Lynn Swann wouldn't have been as large without that "conservative white" vote. The writer, an African-American who supports Obama, chose to try and make the comment an issue. So, no, I don't think it was Rendell trying to stir up some perceived racial issue.
