  1. You want an Obama effect?
    Watch this race.

Wynn is a mainstream DLC, quasi-corrupt incumbent D who may get primaried out of office by Donna Edwards.

Personal aside. I don't much like someone I'm interviewing telling me he has to go because Fox is calling and wants to put them on TV. Am I chopped liver?

Oh, and Wynn was going to lose no matter what, whether he had Kuccinich, Obama, or even Robert Byrd on the ballot. He barely hung on against Edwards last time, and she isn't exactly squeaky clean either, but this was going to be it for him. Not many will miss him. It's his own fault too.

    I like Obama's response.

This one female Clinton supporter on a Springsteen newsgroup I'm on that says Obama won't be able to withstand Republican 'swiftboat' attacks like:

"He's a hypocrite for saying he opposed the war before he got into the Senate, saying he might have changed his stance had seen the information and then voting in favor of the funding"

"The church he belongs to once gave money to Lewis Farakhan"

Her defense of Hillary's missing the vote today on the telecom immunity was that Hillary's vote wouldn't have made a difference and then cited an article from last November that said Obama missed more votes in the two months prior than any other senator running for president - ignoring the fact that the majority of the votes were of the procedural variety.

Anyone know of any recent, reliable polls re HRC-Obama in Texas/Ohio?

  8. Yeah, but some of them were important procedural votes because the actual votes depended on them. He has taken a dive on a few more than she has, although today was a real bad one.
Meanwhile, I can't see a way she wins now. Wisconsin's gone on Tuesday and she can't win texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania by enough to matter. Howard Dean will make some come-to-Jesus phone calls to super-d's who owe him for their election in '06. Michigan and Florida will get settled.
Josh Green is one of the best political reporters around, and this piece is just fucking brutal.

  9. As long as they're still in office, they're good to go.
    So Wynn's in until 2009.

Not to bring a bad cliche into the conversation, but a friend of mine e-mailed tonight saying he thinks "Obama just wants it more than Hillary."

His thinking is Hillary is running for president because she's supposed to do it, because others told her she'd win. Obama is running because he wants it. He also thinks Obama is enjoying the campaign trail much more than Hillary.

I would agree with that 100 percent. Obama smiles and laughs and jokes. Hillary looks like she's constipated.
